Be PART of the SOLUTION

I looked around me and saw the destruction darkness has left in its wake. I heard the cries of desperation.
I prayed to Jesus that I want to be a part of the SOLUTION, and that’s what He did. He invited us to partner with Him to be part of the SOLUTION He has been enacting since before the creation of the world. Jesus coming down to earth and dying for us and resurrecting- that was just a part of it! (A HUGE part!) He is still working on the solution, but also, He assures us that we already have won, and victory is His! How great is that? We fight with the winning team! It’s like entering a sports competition and choosing to be part of the winning team. A team that we know will win not just because the team has already won in the past, but we do know for sure we will win. Not hope to win again, but no! It’s like stepping in the future and seeing that yes, in fact we won. That’s the same for us!
Now, Jesus has mandated us the Church to be part of the solution to the problem of sin. Whoa, whoa, whoa! What are you saying Jenna? That Jesus didn’t solve that yet? Well, if you see stealing, death, poverty, cheating, murder, war, sickness all around you, then the problem of sin is still here.
Yes, the blood of Jesus has cleansed our hearts. But the reality is, it’s still not over yet! He promises victory is His, but at the moment, we are still living in this sinful world. Jesus has commanded His Church to be part of the solution! Can you believe that? We get to partner with Jesus! Now, the question is HOW?
We can view it in 2 parts- what we speak, and what we do. Speak His language, His Word, His message of the Gospel. Do the Gospel. Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly. Love your parents, your sister/brother even when they’re annoying, forgive your friend, share your food, help the poor, feed the hungry, pray for the sick, there’s so much work to be done!
WHOA. That’s a LOT of work. Well yeah, who said being part of the SOLUTION is easy? Ha! BUT God didn’t leave us alone to do it. Before Jesus went back to Heaven (so He can work with us from beside the Father), He told the disciples that He will send the Holy Spirit, and they have to wait there in Jerusalem before going to the ends of the world as He told them to do. AND THANK GOD, for the HOLY SPIRIT. We won’t be able to accomplish Jesus’ work without the Holy Spirit.
We are the hands and feet of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of God. I pray that as you continue (or start) to be part of the solution, may His Spirit in you empower you and strengthen you to share His light for the world.

KNEELING DOWN>

“The minute you willingly lowered yourself for someone else, they would never, ever look at you the same way.”
I read that line from a novel I was reading. It was not a life-changing type of book, it was a passing time kind of romance novel. Yet, however, my God still speaks to me through it. He knows me so well.
The thought of kneeling down before someone else has never occurred to my young mind in my early years as a Christian. However, the past two years, it’s been a lesson my God, my King, has been teaching me. Kneeling down is a universally non-verbal communication of humbling yourself, reaping off any sort of pride. And I have only done it for The One. Even getting accustomed to doing it as a gesture during worship and prayer has been a process.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” James 4:10
It is easier to do in private than in public. I find that the more you do it in private, in those quiet private intimate moments between you and your God, the more you incorporate it in your system. That yes, before Him you bow down in worship and utter surrender.
When it comes to worship in the church setting, when brought to compelling moments of surrender, I find kneeling is a non-issue. Because it is between you and your God, the rest melt into a fade.
It is such a wonderful experience to behold the King in all His splendor. Nothing can truly compare. Before Him, you understand. You truly understand nothing else matters. It is HIM. It’s been HIM all along. It is perhaps something one can only say when you’ve experienced Him. I understand if you don’t see the big deal of the gesture of the moment, you will once you have encountered His presence. There’s no turning back.

JUST ANOTHER LETTER to YOU from me.

There was a shift in me when I truly and finally realized that my life will never ever be stable, from the world’s perspective anyway. And I cry as I write this, it’s beautiful. When I said YES to my Jesus, it wasn’t a YES to a stable perfect human life, where everything is sunshine and rainbows. I said YES to loving Him and people. I said YES to building His Kingdom and making His name known, and that means endless not knowing of what will happen next. Except that I know WHO is still in control, and WHO is always with me. That He will always, always LOVE me, no matter what. That He’s got me, every step of the way. This life I get to live doesn’t have a straight path, but it’s all curved and narrow, and it’s impossible to journey if I do it by myself. It requires endless trusting in God. And when I think I have trusted Him to my best ability, He shakes the ground once again until I lean on Him and depend on His strength.
Oh, I’m sure there will be moments coming again that I will forget for a second and throw a tantrum here or there, but I know I’m sure it will always be a YES for me for Him.
What’s my point in all these then? Just that, don’t expect this life to be perfect. Not in this side of eternity. Not yet my beloved beautiful sisters. But don’t ever think you are alone, because you are not. You are never NEVER alone! You have God on your side, you have millions of sisters all around the world fighting the same battle as you. You are a warrior queen called to be different and be a light to your part of the world. You matter, and your choices and steps matter to God, and to the bigger picture. Never assume you are nothing because that is not true. He loves you very much, and I do too! We do! No matter if we know each other personally or not.
Love you, and keep on keeping on! See you in 2020?
Xx,
jenna

Holy, Holy, Holy…

Isaiah 6:3
And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
I used to think Heaven would be boring. When I read the Bible, it says we would worship God forever. My 14-year old self was not excited about that. (haha!)
Well, I’ve never been to heaven, for starters. But I’ve tasted Heaven and it’s not boring at all.
The more I get to know God, the more in awe of Him I am. It was not until the past year that God allowed me and brought me to a place of understanding how worshipping Him forever will not be boring at all.
Now I understand why God described Himself as “I AM”. And we say “HE IS”. And we also say bits like “BECAUSE GOD. (PERIOD)”. Because HE just IS. He is Uncreated, He is the OG, He is.
A lot of times our opinions are based on our perspectives. The more limited and narrow it is, the more limited and narrow our perspective in life is. My view and understanding of heaven and worshipping God were limited to my 14-year old mindset. Now having experienced what I’ve experienced in my 28 years, and God showing more of Him to me in the recent years have painted my ecstatic excitement for what is to come.
I have come to a place in my relationship with God that whenever I think of Him, and start talking about Jesus, I cry. If you don’t see me crying on the outside, believe me, I am crying on the inside. Why? Because He is so amazing and wonderful and so good and as I write this believe me I am crying. Again, our perspective of God is shaped of our understanding and belief and trust in Him. If you believe Him to be good, then you believe He will never let you down, vice versa.
Let me end this little bit of thought with this last thought. It is my hope and prayer that you won’t let what you have or you don’t have hinder you from getting to know the Creator King.

Frustrating Faith

One of the unhealthiest things in our faith is when you process your thoughts and doubts about God publicly. I think there is something valuable in speaking our thoughts with people we trust who can listen to us without judgment. And allow them to speak over us with love and truth. Grace and truth. Grace and truth.
.
So many people think God is a distant entity, or when they just don’t understand or don’t get any answer, then God does not exist. The truth is, God exists whether or not you believe in Him. If I don’t believe in God, then life is meaningless and there is no point of reference for anything. If I believe in God, then I am also seen as crazy. Ha! There is no meeting in the middle. One of the most infamous arguments of atheists is “if God is real, and loving and forgiving, how can He allow deaths and suffering?”. I think, no matter how profound of an answer you give a closed, numbed, unwilling heart, nothing comes thru. My answer might not be enough for them, and your answer might not be enough for them. That someone can keep arguing with you but you will probably never arrive at an answer. The simplest of faith trumps the greatest of mind. This is why I am so glad I still believe in God after studying Theology for four and a half years. (One and a half of them being pure academic studies). You go through all the motions and asking all these questions about God and your existence, and the world’s existence and why we do this or that. At the end of the day, I can simply choose to trust God or not believe in any of this. I have learned to be okay with not knowing any of the answers. In my heart of hearts, I resonate with the Truth. I have learned how to hold the tension of His love and His justice, of walking in revelation or in complete blindness. I have crawled in the mud of despair and worshipped at the top of the mountain. At the end of it all, you can only choose, and the choice will always be yours. I pray that you choose well.
Choose Him.

FIVE PLANT-BASED VEGAN MYTHS BUSTED!

So many people are shifting in to the Vegan lifestyle nowadays. From 0.4% in 2015, it has then spiked to 6%, that’s 600% increase! (Global Data)
Despite that amazing growth, many people are still hesitant to take the plunge or try Veganism. Why? Well, let’s look at 5 common myths about the Vegan lifestyle, specifically the Plant-based vegan lifestyle. Let’s debunk it!
Number 1.
Becoming vegan doesn’t mean you don’t get enough protein. It is one of those “facts” that the meat industry would like us to think. Broccoli actually has more protein than beef! What?! In addition to that, you only lack protein if you don’t eat enough calories. If you hear of anyone lacking energy or experiencing “malnutrition” from the Vegan lifestyle, it most likely is because they are not eating enough calories.
Number 2.
I also thought so in the beginning. I thought I won’t be able to survive without any source of proteins such as eggs (I was vegetarian). In fact, that was actually the only reason why I personally didn’t go full vegan yet. And I loved cheese! In reality, it takes intentionally changing your mindset about this lifestyle and to be open with learning, growing and trying the Plant-based lifestyle! Once I did and tried it… I thrived in the first week… and it turned to one month… two months… etc. until now!I read so many stories of people doing this for years, decades, and living a healthy life! ⠀
And so I tell myself now… “Well how about that Jenna, it worked on you girl!”
Number 3.
Contrary to popular belief, plant-based is not restrictive! You can eat as much as you want and be full.
There’s so much to be said in that sentence. How is it not restrictive when it is vegan? What about the meat-lovers out there? How can they be satisfied with this lifestyle? And veggies are so light in the stomach!
That’s why the Plant-based lifestyle is also called “starch-based” at times. It is from eating a balance of starch-based food and vegetables, that you will feel the fullness and no restriction on the amount of food you eat. Which brings us to…
Number 4.
As mentioned above, Plant-based lifestyle is heavily starch-based. However, this mindset of “carbs” = “gaining weight” is from years and years of “weight loss programs”. Yes, if you restrict yourself from eating carbs, you will lose weight. But so as restricting yourself from eating meat, vegetables, even sweet! The idea is when you eat more than calories than what your body needs, you gain weight.
I used to think eating rice and potatoes make me gain weight! I eat a lot of them now, but I still lose weight… Wait, what?! How?!⠀⠀
Simply put, stay away from processed carbs and focus on healthy starches. For example, food such as rice and potatoes have naturally occurred “resistant starches” in them, which are beneficial for the large intestine, and make us stay full longer!
Last, but not the least, Number 5.
It is not expensive! Vegan can be expensive when you eat at high-priced vegan restaurants or buy those meat substitutes in the grocery. In truth, being in the Plant-based lifestyle, I spend half my usual grocery bill than before! I’ve read countless articles online and even friends who are on the lifestyle, proving this as well! Google it after reading this, and you’ll be surprised.
Well, those are just 5 myths that we’ve debunked, but WOW, right? There are still so much more out there that carries a negative stigma with the Plantbased Vegan lifestyle. What are some thoughts you had about the Vegan lifestyle? We would love to hear your comments below.

HOW 2BPB – Plant-based Weighloss Online Course LAUNCH!

On Monday, the 4th of November, 2019, I launched my Plant-based lifestyle online course I call “HOW 2B PB”, which simply means, “How to be Plant-based”.
Why this online course? As a Jesus-loving human being, I firmly believe God called us to love Him and one another, be in a relationship with Him and to steward His creation. He is coming back after all, and I don’t want to be caught red-handed killing and abusing His creation- humans, animals, the environment. I also truly believe how we act and serve each other is heavily influenced by the theology we believe and carry. I am not perfect, but “changed and changing still”, right?
So, I am extremely passionate about building the Church, fighting for social justice, and committed to living a sustainable life. I love the environment period. I strive to be a healthier version of myself, to continually equip myself to do the works God has planned for me in advance to do. Long story short, I desire to empower others, especially (drawn to serve) women, to live a life of abundant and encourage and teach you in faith, beauty, social justice, and sustainability. A mouthful, isn’t it? But in Jesus’ name, we can do it!
Shifting to the Plant-based lifestyle is one of the biggest ways we can help make a HUGE dent in solving the environment and climate emergency the world is facing right now. Recycling and using metal straws help yes, but the meat industry has a vast environmental footprint. (Another post) You can choose to keep living in the dark, but the fact remains the same. It’s not enough that we live comfortably in this generation. I strive to do my best to make this world habitable for the next generations. I don’t want to be an advocate of anything because I love peace! I want everyone to be OK. And I know to fight and advocating for something, whether it be my faith, social justice- freedom for slaves, or this- the Plant-based lifestyle. It’s hard enough disciplining and educating myself, how much more educate others?
I always go back to my “Why” who is Jesus. I cannot stand blindly while the person next to me still needs to hear what I’ve heard, and see what I’ve seen, and yet to hear what I’ve heard.
And so, on Monday, finally, I launched the Plant-based online course! Yay. It is not only to help one live a healthier life, lose weight in the process, therefore saving yourself but ultimately you are saving the planet for the next generation.
In the morning, I hosted a live masterclass on Plant-based lifestyle. And when evening came, I gathered some of my closest friends (in Sydney) my home, cooked a “pokeo bowl” style meal for them, in the intention of showing it is easy to make Plant-based vegan food, and it is yummy. I have to say, even some of my meat-lover friends loved it, and that’s an ultimate win for me! I may have to just tour all over the world cooking for people! (haha!)
I am grateful to be able to do what I do. It is an absolute pleasure to love and serve people. And cheers to the beginnings of this advocacy. Cheers to you for still reading this right now.P.S. If you or anyone you know, are curious to try the Plant-based lifestyle, would like to live a healthier life, lose weight healthily, make a huge impact on the environment. You do not have to completely go vegan, but even “Meatless Mondays” or even better become Plant-based for most of the week. Whichever it is, I created this Online Course precisely for you. I made it so much easier! Head on to my Online Course Programs to enroll now.
